Penn Charter senior defenseman John Moderski has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Villanova University.
John Moderski log:

High School: Penn Charter
Graduation Year: 2012
Position: defenseman
Club affiliation: Braveheart
College Choice: Villanova University
Major lacrosse honors: First Team All Inter-Ac (in first season playing defense)
Academic honors: School Honors
What will you major in/study? Liberal Arts
Why did you choose school? “I knew I wanted to stay relatively close to my house; it’s not too big and not too small, and it’s a nice Catholic school. It’s a great opportunity to play lacrosse for a great program that’s on the rise. Coach (Michael) Corrado, coach (Simon) Connor and coach (Andy) German have our best interests. I want to become a better lacrosse player and win some games.”
What is your HS team’s outlook for the season? “We obviously have a goal to win the Inter-Ac. We will go out with confidence. We had a tough loss (Friday against Loyola Blakefield) and we have some injuries, but we are looking forward to the league and having a successful season.”
Other comments: “I would like to thank my mom and dad for giving me support. Thanks to coach (Pat) McDonough for giving me the chance to actually play and get on the field. Also, thanks to coaches Corrado, Connor and German and Villanova for giving me a shot. It’s a great program and I am honored to be able to play for them and represent them next year. And thanks to my teammates for always having confidence in me and working to get better.”
