Malvern Prep senior midfielder Michael Buysse has committed to play MCLA lacrosse at the University of Richmond.

Why did you choose school: “I chose Richmond because it offered everything that I was looking for in a college. I always wanted to go South for warmer weather. It also has an amazing campus and excellent academics. I also felt very comfortable talking with Coach (Glenn) Carter and am excited about what he plans to do with the program.”
Other info: Buysse will join Richmond freshman Ryan McDevitt (goalie), a Malvern Prep grad. Carter is the former coach at Ursinus College and a founder for Black Bear Lacrosse. The Richmond program is looking into the feasibility of moving to the NCAA Division I level.
Outlook for your high school team: “Everybody has been working really hard to improve during the offseason. We are looking to contend for an Inter-Ac championship.”
Other comments: “I would like to thank my entire family for their support throughout the process. I would also like to thank (Malvern Prep) Coach (David) Metzbower for all of his help in recruiting and for developing me as a player and person. Finally, I would like to thank (Old School’s) Todd McFarlane for his help during the summer and for working with us this offseason.”
