Malvern Prep junior midfielder Sean Irvine has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at High Point University.

Sean Irvine log:

Sean Irvine

High School: Malvern Prep

Graduation Year: 2013

Position: Midfielder

College Choice: High Point University, N.C.

Club Affiliation: Mesa Fresh 2013

Major lacrosse honors:
2011 National Lacrosse Classic

Academic honors: First Honors and MECO Leader

What will you major in/study? Business/Marketing

Why did you choose school? “When I first visited High Point it stood out and felt like a place I would want to be at after I graduate. The campus is awesome and the academics were great and just what I was looking for in a school. What really sold me, was meeting Coach (Jon) Torpey (former member of Philadelphia Wings, Barrage). He is a great guy and what I like about him is he really wants to win and he only wants kids that will work hard on his team. High Point University is the type of lacrosse team I want to play for because no matter what, everyone will be giving 100%.”

Other info: High Point begins play as an intercollegiate program in 2012-13.

What is your HS team’s outlook for the season? “I believe that with all the hard work the Malvern Prep lacrosse team has put in this off season, it will really show out on the field with a very successful season. I believe we will be a contender this year for the Inter-Ac Championship.”

Other comments: “I would like to thank my Dad and my Mom for giving me the opportunity to play lacrosse and always being supportive of me, no matter what. I would also like to thank my brother and sisters for cheering me on, going to my games, and always doing whatever they could to help me improve. I would like to thank Coach Joe Glancy my first lacrosse coach for LYA. I would also like to thank my Malvern Coach, Coach (David) Metzbower for all his support an encouragement. I really look forward to playing for Coach Metzbower and Malvern Prep for my last two years of High School.”
