High school: Great Valley

Position: Midfield

Graduation year: Class of 2013

College choice: Marquette University

Club Affiliations: Duke’s L.C., Team Philly Elite

Intended major: History (education)

Major lacrosse honors: Philly Showcase Gait Fab 40 pick, 2011; 2nd team Ches-Mont, 2011, Honorable Mention, 2010

Other schools considered: Villanova, Delaware, Denver, Maryland, Bucknell, UMass

Why did you choose Marquette? “Everyone I talked to, said that you’ll know it when you get on the right campus. When I got to Marquette, it blew my mind. The place is shocking. I went in thinking, ‘What could possibly be in Wisconsin?’ But the coaches were outstanding (head coach is Joe Amplo) and the facilities were awesome. And it’s only an hour and a half plane ride away from Philly.

“I could have either joined a legacy or decided to create one. I like that I can help start one from the ground up.”

HS team’s outlook for 2012 season:
“We are definitely looking to pick up where ended last year (winning 11 in a row before bowing in second round of District 1 playoffs). We’re looking at a tough schedule, but we think we have the talent. We are really coming together as a team in the off season.”

Other comments:
“I want to thank my parents first. Also, I want to thank (PYLA coach) Ken Clausen, Great Valley head coach Tony Verna, the whole team Philly PYLA organization and the Duke’s Lacrosse Club.”
