Penn Charter junior attackman Ray Vandegrift has committed to play Division I lacrosse at Saint Joseph’s University.

Ray Vandegrift log:

Ray Vandegrift

High School: William Penn Charter

Graduation Year: 2013

Position: Attack

College Choice: Saint Joseph’s University

Club Affiliation: Dukes Lacrosse Club

What will you major in/study? Business

Why did you choose St. Joe’s? “When I first had the chance to visit Saint Joseph’s University, I knew it was the right fit for me. I also knew I wanted to study business at a local university. Saint Joe’s has a great business school, a beautiful campus, and the lacrosse team is making great strides with the new coaching staff in place. I know Coach (Taylor) Wray and Coaches (Dan & Michael) Keating are committed to building the program to compete with the best teams in the country, and that’s what I can’t wait to be part of.”

Outlook for your High School team for 2013? “Like always, our team’s outlook for next year is the same that it’s been in the past, to win the Inter-ac and to finish the season with the best record possible. Although we are losing many talented seniors, we are also returning many skilled players that can really contribute all over the field.”

Additional Comments: “I would like to thank all my coaches from Abington Lacrosse Club, Coach Pat McDonough for all his time he puts in on and off the field, Coach Ebe Helm, Coach Jason Christmas, Coach Mckrides, and the Dukes Lacrosse Club coaching staff. I would also like to thank my parents for all their support and Coach (Taylor) Wray and Coaches (Dan and Mike) Keating for allowing me this opportunity.”

Maple Zone Sports and Fitness Complex, the official sponsor for Phillylacrosse.com Boys’ Recruits, congratulates Ray Vandegrift.
