Moorestown rising junior defenseman Brendan Handlan has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Delaware.
Brendan Handlan log:
Brendan Handlan
High School: Moorestown
Graduation Year: 2014
Position: Attackman
College Choice: Delaware
Club Affiliation: Tri-State
Major lacrosse honors: Starter in 2012, 97 groundballs in 17 games; 2012 Nike Blue Chip Rising Junior.
What will you major in/study? Undecided
Why did you choose Delaware? “I chose Delaware because I fell in love with the school the moment I stepped on the campus. Coach (Bob) Shillinglaw, Coach (Greg) Carrol, and Coach Cross really made me feel at home on the visit. I also fell in love with the transition style of play from the defense to offense mainly because I really enjoying pushing the ball into the offensive side of the field. Another benefit is that is close to home and I get a chance to stay with my brother (Michael) and play with him.”
Outlook for 2013 HS season? “We’re returning a lot of our guys and were looking to redeem ourselves from a disappointing end to our season last year. We hope to win our group and see if we can push our way through the TOC and win that.”
Other schools considered: Fairfield, Drexel
Additional Comments: “I want to thank my Tri-State coaches, especially MV Whitlow, for all their support and all they have taught me. I wouldn’t be the player I am today without them. I also want to thank my Moorestown coach, Baron Wallenhurst. Finally I would like to thank my family for all their support and love which really helped me throughout this recruiting process.”
