Manheim Township junior goalie Alex Ready has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Denver.

Alex Ready log:

Alex Ready

High School: Manheim Township

Graduation Year: 2014

Position: Goalie

College Choice: University of Denver

Club Affiliation: Dukes LC

Major lacrosse honors: Lancaster Lebanon League Honorable Mention, Nike Blue Chip rising sophomore camp, Big 4 Showcase All-Star

What will you major in/study? Undecided

Why did you choose Denver? “I felt like Denver was the best fit for me academically, athletically and socially. I really had a good connection with Coach (Bill) Tierney and the rest of the coaching staff and loved the campus. Also Denver gives me the opportunity to compete for a National Championship which is important to me.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next season? “Our entire defense is returning and I think if some guys step up offensively, we can compete for the League and District title and make a run in States.”

Other schools considered: Fairfield, Rutgers, Penn State, High Point, Villanova, Bucknell

Additional Comments: “I would like to thank all the Dukes LC coaches. Especially coach (Ebe) Helm and coach (Mike) Mackrides. They gave me a lot of help throughout the process.

“Also I would like to thank my high school coach, Kyle Wimer.

“Finally, I would also like to thank my parents for all their help and support throughout the process.”

Maple Zone Sports and Fitness Complex, the official sponsor for Phillylacrosse.com Boys’ Recruits, congratulates Alex Ready.
