Hill School senior defenseman John Rhodes has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Hamilton College.

John Rhodes log:

John Rhodes

High School: The Hill School

Graduation Year: 2013

Position: Defense

College Choice: Hamilton

Club Affiliation: LB3, Connecticut Rip-It

Major lacrosse honors: Good to Great All-Star, Brine Shoot-Out, National Invitational 175

Academic Honors: AP Scholar

What will you major in/study? Undecided

Why did you choose Hamilton College? “From the beginning Hamilton had been on my shortlist. I finally visited campus and enjoyed everything about it. It has a great academic reputation, great facilities, and most of all a great student body. I’m excited to play in the NESCAC. It’s a competitive conference, and it’s exactly where I wanted to end up.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next season? “We lost 16 seniors last year, many of whom were going on to play lacrosse in college. We need some guys to step up and fill some roles, however we still have fantastic players at every position. It should be a good year for Hill Lacrosse.”

Other schools considered: Bates, Dartmouth, Connecticut College, Swarthmore

Additional Comments: “First and foremost, I want to thank my parents. They have encouraged and helped my lacrosse career in every way, whether it be driving me to tournaments or just helping me through the recruiting process. I would also like to thank my Hatboro-Horsham lacrosse coaches, Coach Wilkocz and Coach Walker. My lacrosse coaches here at Hill, Coach Ide and Mortenson, deserve a lot of credit for getting me to the level that I am now.”

Maple Zone Sports and Fitness Complex, the official sponsor for Phillylacrosse.com Boys’ Recruits, congratulates John Rhodes.
