Hershey High junior LSM-defenseman David Sickler has committed to play Division I lacrosse at the United States Military Academy at West Point.

David Sickler log:

David Sickler (#10)

High School: Hershey High School

Graduation Year: 2014

Position: LSM/D

College Choice: Army

Club Affiliation: Headstrong

Major lacrosse honors: 2nd team All-Conference Sophomore year; Nike Blue Chip Rising Junior; Loyola Rising Junior Shootout All-Star; Diamond Showcase All-Star

Academic Honors: Honor Roll

What will you major in/study? Undecided

Why did you choose West Point? “On my overnight visit I felt very comfortable at the school and being around the players. All the players were very welcoming, along with the other students on campus. Coach (Joe) Alberici, Coach (Mac) Diange, and Coach (Kyle) Georgalas were all very supportive of my family and me throughout the recruiting process and really showed me what West Point has to offer. I feel that Army will bring the best out of me academically and athletically.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next season? “We lost 12 seniors but still return a lot of young talent. We hope to win our third consecutive Conference Title and make a run at the District Title.

Other schools considered: Loyola, Lehigh, Drexel, High Point, Towson, Mount St Marys, St. Joe’s

Additional Comments: “I would like to thank my family and friends for being so supportive throughout the whole recruiting process.

“I would also like to thank my high school teammates and coaches for pushing me to be the best I can be.

“I would like to thank my Headstrong teammates and coaches for a great summer and guiding me through the recruiting process.

“Lastly, I would like to thank the Army coaching staff for making me feel right at home and giving me the opportunity to play collegiate lacrosse at West Point.”
