Boyertown senior goalie Austin Mutter has made a verbal commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Eastern University.

Austin Mutter log:

Austin Mutter

High School: Boyertown

Graduation Year: 2013

Position: Goalie

College Choice: Eastern University

Club Affiliation: Blue Mountain

Major lacrosse honors: Dicks Atlantic Cup Champions, 4th at Dicks National Championship in Florida, 3 year varsity player.

What will you major in/study? Business (marketing, management,or accounting)

Why did you choose Eastern? “The minute I walked on campus everything felt right. Being on the main-line is a great location for business majors. I heard a number of great things about Coach (Kevin) Wallace, and there wasn’t a second on campus, that I didn’t feel a part of the team. Also while on campus I saw how hard everyone on the team worked and I really liked that about the school. Everything about Eastern gave off a great vibe.”

Outlook for your HS team next season? “We have 18 seniors, and we are ready to surprise some teams in not only the Pac-10 but District 1 as well. If some second and third line players from last year step-up we could have a good year.”

Additional Comments: “I would first like to thank my Dad, Glenn Mutter. He has taken me to almost every practice and game throughout my lacrosse career and I know he will be at the majority of my college games. Secondly, I would like to thank all the coach’s at Blue Mountain lacrosse especially Coach Doug Baily, Dave Ondrusek and Kirk Piper for all the opportunities. Additionally, thank you to my high school coach Geoff Davidson for the chance to start all the games I have for Boyertown. Finally, thank you Jordan Norris For introducing me to Eastern. Without your guidance I don’t know if I would have even considered the school.”

Maple Zone Sports and Fitness Complex, the official sponsor for Phillylacrosse.com Boys’ Recruits, congratulates Austin Mutter. Maple Zone, located on Conchester Pike in Boothwyn, offers numerous programs, leagues and instructional activities for boys’ and girls’ lacrosse players and also offers boys’ U13 and U15 travel teams.
