Strath Haven senior goalie Hallie Yancey has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Robert Morris University.

Hallie Yancey

Hallie Yancey log:

High school: Strath Haven High School

Graduation year:
2013

Position:
Goalie

College choice:
Robert Morris University

Club affiliation: Brandywine Majors

Major lacrosse honors: 2012 All-Southeastern PA Girls 1st team, All-Phillylacrosse.com
High Honorable Mention, 2012 All-Delco Honorable Mention, SHHS Varsity MVP, 2012 Pa State Championship Runner-up

What will you major in/study: Undecided

Why did you choose school: “I chose Robert Morris because it has an outstanding academic reputation, and a strong lacrosse program. The school’s atmosphere is perfect for me, and I love the location. I really enjoyed meeting and working with Coach (Katy) Phillips, Coach (Megan) Nutter and Coach (Katrina) Silva. I also liked how close the team was and very excited to play in the Northeast Conference as a Colonial!”

Outlook for your high school team: “After making it to the State Final game last year and losing in overtime, I think my team will come back very strong and make it back to state playoffs again. Some strong players graduated last year, but we have some younger players that are definitely ready to step it up.”

Other comments: “I would first like to thank my family who came and supported me at all of my games. Thank you to my Brandywine Coaches, Karen Borbee and Betsy Glassford, and my high school coaches, Rachel Busza and Laura Patton, for all of their tremendous help and support throughout my high school career. Thanks Coach Jen Duckenfield, who opened my eyes to the goalie position a couple of years ago and for teaching me how to play. And I’d like to give a huge thank you to Pam Cross for all of the help she gave me throughout the recruiting process!”
