Springfield-Delco junior attack Kate Ryan has made a commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Monmouth University.

What will you major in/study? Physical Education teacher
Why did you choose Monmouth? “When I went to one of their home games I thought wow I should really consider going here. It was such a beautiful campus and they had what I was looking for. Then I started to look more and more into the academic and lacrosse programs and new this is where I wanted to be. I am so glad that I made my decision to become a Monmouth Hawk!”
Outlook for your high school team? “Springfield has been a very strong team for years. I think this year we can really kill it, because we have a lot of good returning players and are very determined to win.”
Additional comments: “I want to give a huge shout out to my Mom, Dad, and sister Molly who helped me through this all. Also to the rest of my family who came out and supported me at all my games. You guys are the best and were always there for me.
“I would also like to thank my High School coaches Keith Broome, Kathleen Geiger, Chrissy Poplawski, and Sandy Carter. They have made me into a great player and always encouraged me to “Be The Best” and it really paid off!
“I would also like to thank my Ultimate coaches Jen Duckenfield and Michele DeJuliis who have been a great help and where always there when I had questions and were very supportive. Another person I would like to thank is Mrs D. You where my first lacrosse coach in 4th grade and you taught me how to be a team player and never give up. A big thanks goes out to all them!
