Radnor junior midfielder/attack Shannon Quinn has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the College of William and Mary.
Shannon Quinn log:
Shannon Quinn
High school: Radnor High School
Graduation year: 2013
Position: Midfield/Attack
College choice: William & Mary
Club affiliation: STEPS Elite Philly
Major lacrosse honors: Maximum Exposure Camp, Varsity Lacrosse Member 2011, 2012
What will you major in/study: Undecided
Why did you choose school: “William and Mary was a perfect fit for me academically and athletically. I knew from the moment I walked onto the campus that William and Mary was where I wanted to go to school. When I went to visit the campus, the players made me feel right at home. The campus is beautiful and it is in a great location. The Coaches, Brooke Ireland and Sarah Mollison, are great coaches and I cannot wait to play for them. Also the school had a strong sense of pride which really drew me in.”
Outlook for rest of year for your high school team: “We did not lose many players last year, which is going to be a big advantage for us. Our team was very young last year and we all gained valuable experience that has prepared us for this season. Last year we had to spend a lot of time developing the younger players (like me), because they were not as experienced, but this year we have almost our entire line-up back, which has really helped us so far. We also play really well together as a team, which is also a big advantage for us.”
Other comments: “I would first like to thank my family for all their support throughout the process. I would especially like to thank my twin sister, Taylor, because from all of the arguments that we had during this process, she has always supported my decisions and has never doubted me. I would also like to give a big thank you to Brooke Fritz, however stressed I might have been she was always there to reassure me. Without her I would have not gotten this opportunity to play.”
