Conestoga senior midfielder Claire Jackson has made a commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Franklin & Marshall College.
Claire Jackson log:
Claire Jackson
High School: Conestoga
Graduation Year: 2013
Position: Midfield
College Choice: Franklin and Marshall
Club Affiliation: Phantastix
Academic honors: Honor Roll, AP National Scholar
What will you major in/study? Foreign Relations and Political Science
Why did you choose the school? “Franklin and Marshall had the best combination of what I wanted, academically and athletically. I didn’t have to sacrifice getting a great education for playing lacrosse. The new coach, Coach (Mike) Faith, is awesome and I am so excited to play for him and the rest of the staff. Everything just really fit together for me. All the girls on the team make you feel like family and I knew this is what I was looking for in a college.”
What is your HS team’s outlook for next season? “I think that we have a really talented group of girls this year. We had a great run last year and I know that we have the potential to do it again this year. We lost a lot of great seniors that I’m going to miss playing with but we have a strong team again this year and I have a great feeling about the 2013 season.”
Other comments: “I’d really like to thank my dad for supporting me through everything; and of course my high school coaches, Amy Orcutt, Meaghan McDugall, and Krissy Diamond. I’d also like to thank JoAnn Yusko, Sue Frazier, Margie Garrity, and Maureen Hagar at Phantastix for giving me the opportunity to play club.”
