Archbishop Carroll rising junior midfielder Megan Santoleri has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Delaware.

Megan Santoleri log:

Megan Santoleri

High school: Archbishop Carroll

Graduation year:
Class of 2014

Position:
Midfield

College choice: University of Delaware

Club affiliation: Phantastix

Major lacrosse honors:
National Tournament Philly Team 1, Honorable Mention All Main-Line, Maximum Exposure Showcase All-Star

What will you major in/study:
Undecided

Why did you choose school: “Delaware has everything I need to succeed academically, socially, and athletically. I felt like I belonged as soon as I walked on the campus. I liked the fact that they are transforming the lacrosse program which made me even more excited. I want to be a part of that; to be a part of their success. After meeting and speaking with the coaches (Kateri Linville, Kristin Hopson, Kristen Carr), I knew it was the perfect fit for me.”

Outlook for your high school team in 2013: “I think we are going to have a great year. We have a lot of girls coming back. We have senior Sam Moore (Delaware) returning from a torn ACL and we have senior Taryn Deck (Dartmouth) transferring from Radnor. My goal is to make it to states and go farther than we’ve ever gone in the past.

Other comments:
“I would like to thank my high school and club coach Lorraine Beers, along with school coaches George Hopson, Jess Brophy, and Margie Garrity. Coach Beers has been there for me from the beginning of my freshman year and continues to push me to be the best player I can be. I also want to thank my Phantastix club coaches (JoAnn Yusko and Sue Frazier) and teammates for coaching me and supporting me through the process. Lastly I want to thank my Dad. He drove me to every tournament, every camp, and has been there for me always. He is my biggest fan.”
