Lacrosse world mourns loss of longtime Long Island coach and Brine NLC leader Chris Deeks, 60, also leader in Brine NLC

the lacrosse world is mourning the passing of longtime Long Island high school coach and Brine National Lacrosse Classic coach and leader Chris Deeks, 60.

Mr. Deeks passed away late Thursday night in his sleep.

Mr. Deeks was the East Regional Director for the Brine National Lacrosse Classic and Head Coach of the Long Island regional team since 2009. He was the head varsity lacrosse coach at Great Neck High School. Previously, Coach Deeks served as head lacrosse coach at Floral Park Memorial.

Coach Deeks exemplified the outstanding characteristics and human values that touched so many student athletes and fellow coaches. He will be missed, but never forgotten.
