Girls’ club lacrosse: Quaker City 2014 squad goes undefeated at All Star Express Tournament

The Quaker City Lacrosse 2014 girls’ team went 6-0 at the All Star Express Tournament last weekend in New Castle, DE.

The return of Attacker Katie Melvin (Harriton) from injury helped lead an impressive fastbreak that included Taylor Myers (Wissahickon), Chessie Niccoletti (Baldwin) and Bailey Ebby (Harriton).

Midfielders Sabrina Tabasso (Harriton) and Jane and Maura Henderson (Harriton) and Sophie MacFarlane (Friends Central) controlled the draw circle. Defenders Lauren Ferguson (Marple Newtown), Hilary Lemonick (Harriton), Erin Carpenter (Marple Newtown), and Lauren Shickling (Springfield) were outstanding in front of the standout goal keeping of Ali Kothari (Shipley).

Combined with the 4-0 bracket winning record from the Lax for the Cure tournament two weeks ago, QC Lax 2014 finished the summer season with 10 straight victories.
