Brandywine Majors 2014 claimed the team championship last weekend at the Penn State 5 v 5 Tournament.
Five of the players were members of the 2012 Garnet Valley State championship team last year as sophomores.
The tournament featured 16 teams from all over the Tri-State area competing at the Penn State University Park field with the members of the current Penn State team serving as coaches. garnet Valley grad and 2012 Phillylacrosse.com Co-Player of the Year Ally Heavens was the Brandywine Majors coach and guided the team to a 12-0 record.
Brandywine Majors earned one win in overtime with a Brave Heart deciding the game. It then won both playoff games, including a dramatic sudden death overtime win in the finals against the previously undefeated house team which included several Penn State recruits.
The winning goal was scored by Haley Warden, who was the catalyst for the great come-from-behind win by GV in the state championship game this past spring over Strath Haven.
