From Press Release

Former Temple University and Wissahickon standout Chelsea Rosiek has been named head coach for the Chestnut Hill College women’s lacrosse team.

Chelsea Rosiek

A two-time all-Atlantic 10 performer for Temple, Rosiek brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Griffin sidelines. Last year she served as head coach at her alma mater, Wissahickon High, while also being a part-time assistant at Haverford College.

“We are thrilled to have Chelsea on board as our new head coach,” said Chestnut Hill College Director of Athletic and Recreation Lynn Tubman. “Her passion, enthusiasm, and commitment to the sport of lacrosse is evident in her involvement on the high school, club and collegiate levels.

“I truly believe Chelsea will make an immediate positive impact on the growth of our program; we are excited for the future of women’s lacrosse at Chestnut Hill College.”

Rosiek coached the Trojans to an 11-8 record last year and also has served as coach of the Wisslax A-Team, a non-profit community based lacrosse program, in all aspects. She accrued additional coaching experience as a coach for Ultimate Goal lacrosse club.

With Ultimate Goal’s 2012 Team, Rosiek developed and prepared several high school student-athletes for national tournaments and college recruitment at the Division I, II, and III levels. She has been selected as Ultimate Goal’s Blue Team Head Coach for 2015. Rosiek’s earliest coaching experience stems from her years as a camp counselor at Summer’s Best Two Weeks Camp, 2009, and as a member of the International Coaching Program (ICP), 2010, where she served as a United States ambassador at the Berlin Open and the Prague Cup.

As a senior at Temple, Rosiek led the 2010 Owls’ lacrosse team to a 7-10 overall record with 26 goals and 29 assists (55 points). She led the Atlantic 10 in assists-per-game (1.71) and finished second in draw controls-per-game (3.41) after pairing 58 draw controls (9th in NCAA DI) with 23 ground ball recoveries.

Rosiek recorded three goals and five assists in the Owls narrow 15-13 loss to top-seeded, Richmond University in the Atlantic 10 Semifinals (4/23/10). For her efforts she was awarded with an All-Atlantic 10 First Team selection. Rosiek amassed 133 points (72 goals and 61 assists) in her collegiate career, which also included an All-Atlantic 10 Second Team selection in 2008 (27 goals and 16 assists, 43 points) and Atlantic 10 All-Tournament Team selections in 2008 and 2010. She currently holds rank in five all-time stat categories including, assists (7th, 61), draws (7th, 96), single-season assists (T3rd, 29), single-season draws (2nd, 58), and single-game assists (T2nd, 5 vs. Richmond University on 4/23/10).

During her collegiate career, Rosiek was a top performer in the classroom as well. She was a member of the 2010 Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) and Atlantic 10 Commissioner’s Academic Honor Rolls, she is a four-time member of the Temple University Athletic Director’s Honor Roll (2006-2010), a three-time member of the Dean’s List (2008-2010), and a two-time member of the President’s Honor Roll (2009-2010).

Rosiek owns Threshold Lacrosse, a lacrosse clinic and development company in the Montgomery County area and she is currently employed as a paralegal with Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman, and Goggin of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania while residing locally, in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania.
