Recent Episcopal Academy graduate Jon Garino, considered one of the top face-off specialists in the country when he led the Churchmen to the Inter-Ac Invitational championship this spring, will play Division I lacrosse at the University of Maryland.

Garino had originally committed to Lafayette.

Garino won 80 percent of his face-offs and was the Inter-Ac Invitational MVP while also earning US Lacrosse All-American and All-Phillylacrosse.com First Team honors. He also had 19 goals and was a key in helping EA finish 18-5 and gain a national ranking.

Garino is one of five players on the All-Phillylacrosse.com First Team headed to Maryland, which has lost in the NCAA championship game the past two years. The others going to Maryland include seniors Bradlee Lord and Tyler Brooke (Conestoga, attackmen), Ryan Lehman (Garnet Valley, defenseman) and junior Matt Rambo (La Salle, attackman).
