Duke’s L.C., Twist Black reach semifinals at Champ Camp

Matt Rambo (La Salle) had two goals and two assists while Reilly Hupfeldt (Haverford School) and Mike Sutton (St. Augustine Prep) each scored twice as the Duke’s Lacrosse Club toppled Tri-State White, 6-5, today to advance to the semifinals at Champ Camp in Baltimore.

Jeff Cimbalista (La Salle) added three assists for Dukes, which remained undefeated in the tourney and will play Team 24 in the semis Saturday at 8 a.m. at Homewood Field at Johns Hopkins University.

The other semifinal game also will feature a Philly team as Twist Black remained undefeated with a 14-7 win over Carolina Elite. Twist Black will play GotSkillz at 8 a.m. at Towson’s Johnny Unitas Stadium.

In the Round of 16, Dukes whipped Fog City, 15-2, as Rambo and Hupfeldt each had three goals and an assist while Sutton, Grayson Helm (Wyomissing) and Trevor Kupecky (Upper Merion) each scored twice.

In its first playoff game, Dukes blitzed Tri-State Navy, 13-1, as Rambo had three goals and two assists and Tanner Peck (Avon Grove) added two goals and an assist. Zack Schleicher also had two goals.

Dukes 2 was eliminated by Sweet Lax (Mass.), 12-7 and then rebounded with a 7-6 win over Ridgewood (N.J.).

Twist Black first defeated Virginia Lacrosse Club, 11-4 and then routed Blue Mountain Blue, 10-3 in the Round of 16.
