The La Salle boys and Archbishop Carroll girls claimed the District 12 lacrosse championships Thursday and earned Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association berths in the first Public-catholic title games every held in he sport.
The games were held at the Germantown Supersite. La Salle (17-4) downed Northeast, 19-2; while Carroll defeated Girls’ High, 19-1.
The Explorers, who will play District 1 fourth-place finisher Great Valley in the first round of the PIAA tourney on Wednesday, got six goals and two assists from Aidan Kerrigan and five goals and an assist from Zach Drake. Northeast is 14-3.
In the girls’ game, Carroll (13-8) got three goals and an assist from Margaret Filippelli and three goals from Gabbi Hull. The Patriots advance to face District 1 sixth-place finisher Strath Haven in the first round of the PIAA tourney on Wednesday.
