Episcopal Academy raced to a 9-1 halftime lead and coasted past Radnor, 12-6, today in the Checking for Cancer Lacrosse Invitational at Haverford School.
Tyler Odell had three goals and two assists and Connor Haab had two goals and an assist while Curtis Zappala and Morgan Westby each scored twice to lead a balanced attack for EA, which improved to 10-1. Radnor fell to 6-4.
“Episcopal is an excellent team,” said Radnor coach John Begier. “They are very well coached with no weaknesses. They are a proven top team in Philly.”
EA now gears for the heart of the Inter-Ac League schedule. The Churchmen (2-0) face Penn Charter Tuesday and host Haverford School Friday at 7 p.m. in a much-anticipated game.
“We need to focus and keep our composure,” Haab said. “In the second half today we lost focus. We need to make sure we come out strong every game but keep it going in the second half.”
Ben Junior led the Red Raiders with three goals.
“We knew we were going to be in for a tough game. We weren’t able to stop their second-quarter run,” Begier said. “With Conestoga next, we need to get better team offense and team defense”
