Hill School senior defenseman Sean Dougherty has made a verbal commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Colby College.
Sean Dougherty log:
Graduation Year: 2013
Position: Defense
College Choice: Colby College
Club Affiliation: Duke’s LC
Major lacrosse honors: Philly Showcase Gait Fab 40, Nike Blue Chip, Whiz Kids All-Star
Academic Honors: High Honor Roll, Award for Excellence in Economics
What will you major in/study? Economics
Why did you choose Colby? “From the beginning, I wanted to use lacrosse to get into the best school possible, and I have always liked small schools. Colby is both small and a great school, which is what attracted me to it in the first place. After getting on campus and getting to know Coach (Justin) Domingos and Coach (John) Odierna, I knew Colby was the right fit for me.”
What is your HS team’s outlook for next season? “It’s going to be tough to replace the 16 seniors we lost, but we have a strong core of returning players as well as some new kids who will give us the opportunity to compete on a high level.”
Other schools considered: Williams, Middlebury, Gettysburg
Additional Comments: “Thanks to everyone who helped me in this process, especially my Mom, my Dad, Josh, Christina, and special thanks to Graham Conlan for being my life coach.”
