Montgomery High (N.J.) junior midfielder Sam Oltmans has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Duke University.
Sam Oltmans log:

High School: Montgomery
Graduation Year: 2014
Position: Midfield
College Choice: Duke
Club Affiliation: Tri- State
Major lacrosse honors: Nike Blue Chip, All-State Freshman and Sophomore years
Academic honors: National Honor Society
What will you major in/study? Undecided
Why did you choose the school? “At the beginning of my recruitment Tri-State Coach MV Whitlow just told me to see all the schools I wanted to and find the one that fits. For me that was Duke, due to the excellence they achieve in the classroom and on the field. Once I visited and talked to Coach (John) Danowsky, I knew that it was where I wanted to be.”
What is your HS team’s outlook for next season? “Coming off a strong run through the playoffs last year I think that this year we will have the same outlook of being state champions. This will be a hard feat, but I believe with the players and coaches we have it is a goal that can be accomplished. Last year was Coach Tim Roy’s first season coaching Montgomery and it couldn’t have been a better one. This year with senior Josh Reinson leading us and Coach Roy, I think we will have an extremely successful year as a team.”
Other schools considered? Maryland, Johns Hopkins, North Carolina
Other comments: “I wish to thank Coach MV Whitlow, (Tri-State) Coach Bob Turco and Coach Tim Roy.”
