Concord (DE) senior midfielder Kevin Louie has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Stevens Institute of Technology.
Kevin Louie log:
High school: Concord High School (DE)
Graduation year: 2013
Position: Midfield
College choice: Stevens Institute of Technology
Club affiliation: Team 302 Elite
Major lacrosse honors, camps: 2nd Team All Conference, Philly Showcase Gait Fab 40, Elite 180, MVP, UPlax, Battle of the Hotbeds, and Garnet Elite.
What will you major in/study: Mechanical Engineering or Business Tech
Why did you choose school: “Stevens has an outstanding academic reputation and the minute I stepped foot on campus I felt like I could definitely spend 4 years there. Both Coach (Gene) Peluso and Coach (Matt) Madalon were very honest with me throughout the process and that was also very important to me. Also, the lacrosse program has had a lot of success in recent years and I want to be a part of that success in a couple of years.”
Outlook for your high school team: “We return a lot of seniors and juniors this year so it is safe to say that we aim to win the conference, which has been my goal all along. I also hope that we can make a run at the state tournament like we did in 2010.”
Other comments: “I would like to start by thanking Coach Madalon at Stevens for helping me through the process and for always being honest with me. I also would like to thank Coach Merritt, Coach Nippert, Coach Estock, Coach Hoopes, Coach Killen, Coach Jay Motta, and Coach Keevin Galbraith, I’ve learned so much from all of them both on and off the field. I also want to thank my trainers, John Coveleski and Andrew Unthank. In addition to my coaches I thank my family but especially my mom and dad for all of their love. Lastly, I thank my friends, Tommy, Peter, and Paul who have all helped me along the way and encouraged me.”
