Springfield-Delco senior goalie Chrissy Hughes has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Neumann University.

What will you major in/study? Athletic Training
Why did you choose school? “I chose Neumann because I thought it was the best fit for me overall. Coach (Christy) Malone is truly the reason I chose Neumann. Her attitude and dedication to being the best is something I would like to be a part of next year. The girls and Coach Malone made me feel part of the team as soon as I met them. I really loved the college campus and how friendly everyone is. Also, it’s close to home which is important to me.”
What is your HS team’s outlook for the season? “I have high expectations for this season. Although we have a younger team, many of them are talented and stepped up to the plate last year, which I am confident to see again this year. I would love to help my team rise to the top and go back to Hershey to contend for the state title this year.”
Other comments: I would like to thank my high school goalie coach, Chrissy Poplawski for teaching me everything she knows to help me develop my game throughout the years at Springfield High School. I also want to thank my high school coaches, Kathleen Geiger, Keith Broome, and Sandy Carter for teaching not only me but my team also to be the best. Lastly, I’d like to thank my high school teacher Monica Braconnier for inspiring me in the classroom and assisting me with my college process.”
