Lawrenceville School (N.J.) post-grad attackman Josh Stauffer has signed a National Letter of Intent to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Michigan.

Position: Attack

College choice: Michigan

Club affiliations: Palm Beach Storm, Tri-State

Lacrosse honors: 2011 US Lacrosse All-American, Palm Beach Post’s South Florida Player of the Year, Captain, 2010 and 2011 State Champions

Academic honors: National Honor Society, National Merit Commended Scholar, started Teams for Tomorrow Club in which we ran lacrosse clinics and collected equipment donations to spread the sport to kids who wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity to play

Intended major: “I plan on studying business or economics.”

Why did you choose Michigan? “As soon as I visited Michigan, I knew it was the right place. The coaches, the facilities, and the support for the lacrosse program there made it an easy decision.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for 2012? “This team is the closest, most motivated group of people I’ve ever been around and I’m excited to see what we can do.”

Other comments: “I’d like to thank my family, Coach (MV) Whitlow and Coach (Allen) Fitzpatrick at Lawrenceville, and Coach Rye and Coach Cheatham at Benjamin for all the support both on and off the field.”
