West Chester East senior midfielder Morgan Gallagher has signed a National Letter of Intent to play Division I lacrosse at Old Dominion University (VA).

Gallagher, a member of the National Honor Society, intends on studying Speech Pathology at ODU. She aspires to work with Children or in Special Education after college.
Gallagher will play for veteran coach Sue Stahl, a former Temple assistant and Philly native who spent 17 years as the US National coach.
“She’s awesome, she has so much experience,” Morgan said of Stahl.
The location of the school (Norfolk) was just right for Gallagher.
“I really liked the campus and I like Virginia. I didn’t want to go super far, I wanted to stay within driving distance,” she said.
Gallagher is one of four players on the West Chester East squad committed to Division I colleges. Julia Falcone signed with St. Joseph’s, while fellow senior Hayley Tomilson is committed to Mount St. Mary’s (MD) and junior Steph Lobb has committed to North Carolina.
Despite going 9-10 last season the Vikings and Morgan are expecting a turnaround.
“Our expectations are high,” she said. “We got a new coach (former Villa Maria Academy coach Krista Somits) and we are really working hard. We’ve been doing a lot of optional workouts, too.”
