Auburn High (N.Y.) senior midfielder-defender Maggie Lewis has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Villanova University.

Major lacrosse honors: CNY All League Honorable Mention 2009, CNY All League 2nd Team 2010, CNY All League 1st Team 2011, 2011 Captain, 2011 Team Offensive MVP.
Academic Honors: National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Academic All American, High Honors Roll, Church Altar Server.
Intended Major: Liberal Arts and Sciences
Why did you choose school? “I chose Villanova because it had been my dream ever since fourth grade. Two of my older brothers graduated from Villanova; one also played lacrosse there. It was a place that felt like home for me. I was drawn to it’s strong academics, it’s rising lacrosse program, the close-knit community, & it’s Catholic affiliation.”
HS team’s outlook: “We are looking forward to our upcoming season with a talented number of girls who are ready to take on any challenge. We expect to qualify for Sectionals and make a strong showing in our competitive Central Section.”
Other comments: “I would like to thank my Star Rider Club coach and former high school coach, Dick Lighton, who believed in me and supported me throughout my entire lacrosse career. I would like to thank my current high school coach, Leanne Musso, who has been a great role model for me throughout my high school career. I would like to thank my assistant high school coach, Dan Knoblock, for all his encouragement & leadership last season. Lastly, I would like to thank my family, for being my most loyal fans & helping my dream become a reality. I love you Mom, Dad, Christian, Sean, Ryan & Brendan!”
