Spring-Ford senior goalie Cassidy Novotny has made a verbal commitment to play Division II lacrosse at Lock Haven University

Cassidy Novotny log:

Cassidy Novotny

High School: Spring-Ford
Graduation Year: 2012
Position: Goalie
College Choice: Lock Haven University
Club Affiliation: PA Express
Major lacrosse honors: 2X Varsity Letter Winner, 2011 Pioneer Athletic Conference, 1st Team; 8.26 GAA, .605 save percentage.
What will you major in/study? “Secondary Education… I hope to Coach HS Lacrosse some day.”

Why did you choose school?
” First and most important was the academic fit. I loved the feel and the layout of the campus located along the Susquehanna River. I connected with Coach (Kristen) Selvage and that was a big factor in my decision. Their proven record on the field, winning the PSAC 3 years in a row and making the NCAA tournament 5 of the last the last 7 years didn’t hurt either.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next year? “We improved greatly under Coach Amy Short last season and made districts. I think we’ll be a contender in the PAC-10. We were a young team last year and we retain much of our talent. We have balance at all positions. If we play well together as a team we’ll be tough to beat.”

Other comments: “I wouldn’t be in this position without the great coaching I’ve received. A special thanks to Spring-Ford Coaches Amy Short and Elaine Ruppert and PA Express Coach Cathy Swartz and Jen Anderson and also my Goalie Coach, Mike Swartz. Thanks for your sacrifice and commitment to the game.”
