Council Rock South senior defender Molly Dubs has made a verbal commitment to play Division II lacrosse at Bloomsburg University.
Dubs was a Second Team Suburban One League pick in 2010. She plays club lacrosse for the Phantastix.
Dubs plans to major in Business Management. She said it didn’t take long to realize she wanted to be a part of the growing Huskies program.
“The second I walked on to campus I knew it was where I belonged,” she said. “The campus had everything I was looking for.”
A strong draw to BU was fifth year head coach Leah Carr. A native of Lansdale, Carr has accumulated 43 wins and four playoff berths at the helm.
“Coach Carr was so easy to talk to, she had a lot of goals for the team and I wanted to be a part of the programs growing success,” Dubs said.
Dubs will have at least one thing in common with most of the players on the Huskies program. Currently 17 out of 23 players on the BU roster hail from the Keystone state. Also from Philly in the senior class, defenders Carly Ball (North Penn), Amanda Jaynes (Pennridge), midfielders Allie Campbell (Owen J. Roberts) and Grace Malizia (Perkiomen Valley) and attack Morgan Sherriff (Coatesville) have committed to Bloomsburg.
With her final season at Council Rock South underway, Dubs has her sights set on a big finale.
“My whole team is one big family which helps so much on the field,” she said. “We are always there picking each other up. I hope to make it to playoffs and win our league.”
