Council Rock North junior attack Kara Magley has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Boston College.

Council Rock North junior Kara Magley has committed to Boston college

Magley was a First Team Suburban One National Conference pick in 2010 when she scored 43 goals and helped the Indians share the conference title with Abington. She plays club lacrosse for the Phantastix.

Magley, an honor roll student, has her mind set on entering Boston College’s prominent education program.

“Boston College has an amazing academic program and the school of education is outstanding,” she said.

Magley had plenty of suitors knocking at her door. She decided on Boston College over Duke, Dartmouth, Virginia Tech and others.

“I really like the coach (Bowen Holden) and the direction she is taking the team towards the future,” while also mentioning, “I wanted an urban setting and Boston is a really nice city.”

Magley spends her summers being a counselor at Camp Discovery (Bucks County) for neglected children.

“We are one-on-one with the kids and we do whatever they want to do,” she said. “It’s really fun.”

Magley is one of three Council Rock North players to commit to a Division I college. Junior midfielder Molly Doyle and senior midfielder Lindsay Rheiner have committed to Navy.

“We are going to be stronger this year because we have a really developed team,” Magley said, noting the Indians fell in the first round of the District 1 playoffs. “We want to go farther this year than we did last season.”
