Barrack Hebrew Academy senior attack Danielle Levin has made a commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Muhlenberg College.

Daniele Levin log:

Danielle Levin

High school: Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy (AKA: Akiba)

Graduation year:
2012

Position:
Attack

College choice:
Muhlenberg College

Club affiliation:
Envy Lacrosse

Major lacrosse honors:
MVP, Athletic Excellence Award, Captain, Established Team, Main line athlete of the week and All Main Line second team.

What will you major in/study: “Undecided but I am interested in studying public health.”

Why did you choose school: “I chose Muhlenberg because of the tight-knit community at the school. Whether it be on the field with the team or around the campus, there is a huge sense of community. That is something I really value and look for in a team and in a school. I think that support from your community leads to personal success. I also chose it because after spending time around the players and coaches I knew it was a group of girls I would be proud to say are my teammates and coaches whom I deeply respect and would feel honored to play for.”

Outlook for your high school team: “This upcoming season will be the third official season of Lacrosse at Barrack Hebrew Academy. As of three years ago, most of Barrack’s players had never even picked up a stick. Last year we did not lose any seniors, and we were a very strong team. We lost in the league championship game to the defending champions by one point. This year we will have a new coach and the same dedicated girls back out on the field to win the ‘SHIP. As a team we have come so far together in such a short time. This is Barrack’s year to shine and we will put forth everything we have.”

Other comments: “I would like to thank my parents for coming to all of my games and helping me create a lacrosse team at Barrack. Without them I would have had to stop playing Freshman year. They are my biggest fans and always encourage me to push myself harder. I really appreciate their indefinite support. I owe a BIG thanks to my former coach, Sue Wolfgang Dotsey (now coaching at Philadelphia University), for never letting me sell myself short and being such an inspiring role model for me throughout high school. She is one of the most passionate athletes I have ever come across, and I admire her greatly for that. Finally, I owe everything to my amazing team at Barrack. I am so lucky to be a part of this team. Each girl is motivated and determined. There is a mutual understanding of what it means to be part of a team and because of that, we were able to accomplish all that we have.”
