From Press Releases

The Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) will send six players to Prague, Czech Republic for the 2011 World Indoor Lacrosse Championships (WILC) from May 21-27.

Wings defender Matt Alrich was selected by the players of Team USA to Assistant Captain.

The six Wings players representing Team USA are Philadelphia native Bill McGlone (Ridley), forward Brendan Mundorf; University of Delaware graduates Drew Westervelt and Matt Alrich; 2011 NLL All-star Max Seibald, and transition player Matt Zash. Each player will raffle off their game jersey as a fundraiser to send the team to Prague. For more information, visit www.usildonation.org.

The Wings will also send Offensive Coordinator Blane Harrison, Athletic Trainer Jennifer Massey and Equipment Manager Michael Fox to Prague for the WILC.

“It is spectacular for the Wings organization to have six players, Coach Harrison, Jennifer and Foxy as part of Team USA,” said Wings General Manager Johnny Mouradian, also the Team Canada GM. “As GM for the Wings and Team Canada it will be mixed emotions to look over and see the guys and staff on the opposing team’s bench. I look forward to our meeting and wish them the best of luck.”

The 2011 WILC is set to begin on Saturday, May 21. Team USA’s first game will be against the Czech Republic at Eden Arena. For more information on the tournament, visit www.wilcprague2011.com.
