Wednesday’s boys’ high school roundup: St. Joe’s Prep downs A. Wood; Spring-Ford, CB East keep hold on first place

Jeff Heath scored four goals and Fenton Fitzpatrick added three goals and an assist Wednesday as visiting St. Joseph’s Prep toppled Archbishop Wood, 13-6, in a Catholic League boys’ lacrosse game.

The Hawks improved to 9-3 overall and 5-1 in the league, while Wood fell to 5-5 overall and 3-2 in the league.

Blaine Fleming added two goals and an assist and Brad James had a goal and three assists for St. Joe’s Prep.

Chandler Grasela scored twice for the Vikings.

Archbishop Ryan 16, Archbishop Carroll 8

Tim Taylor had eight goals and an assist and Kevin Nelms contributed three goals and three assists for the Raiders in the Catholic League win.

Methacton 14, Perkiomen Valley 7

Cody Ridgway collected four goals and three assists to lead the Warriors to a Pioneer Athletic Conference win.

The Warriors, who improved to 8-3 in the PAC-10, 10-4 overall, also got a season-high four goals from Brian Vawter and four assists from Clay Sobocinski. Senior Scott Markle chipped in with a team-high 7 ground balls while Pete Alloway won 13 of 25 faceoffs.

Pete Sclafani scored three goals and Ryan Boyd had two goals and two assists for Perk Valley.

Spring-Ford 20, Pottsgrove 7

The Rams remained perfect in the PAC-10 as Drew Thomas scored three goals and accumulated eight assists while Zach Monzo and Paul Major each scored five goals.

Owen J. Roberts 21, Pope John Paul II 1

The Wildcats ran away with the PAC-10 victory behind Jon Pennell’s five goals and three assists. Kohl Batdorf and Ryan Kent added four goals apiece and combined for three assists for OJR (9-2, 9-5).

Nick Tordone (2 goals, assist), Chris Antich (goal, 2 assists) and goalie Matt Boyer (9 saves) all contributed strong efforts for the Wildcats.
PJP netminder Josh Bildstein came up with 14 saves to key the Golden Panthers.

Central Bucks East 9, Hatboro-Horsham 3

The Patriots held a tenuous 2-1 lead at halftime but outscored the Hatters 3-0 in the third quarter and 7-2 in the second half to remain perfect in the Suburban One Continental Conference.

Parker Self led a balanced attack with three goals. Matt Brodzik added two goals and an assist, and Weston French, Chris Vetter, Ryan Whitney (one assist) and Matt Heim each contributed single goals.

Harrison Holak had four saves in goal for the Patriots while Marc Poust had nine saves for the Hatters.

Hill School 14, Blair Academy 4

The Blues improved to 2-1 in the Mid-Atlantic Prep League as goalies Duncan Saunders (six saves) and Karl Wiszermurski had strong games and Nick LaBranche, Ted Wolter, and Gregor Davidheiser paced the offense. Sam LaBranche controlled the face-off X.

Upper Moreland 15, George School 3

Ryan Christensen had five goals and an assist and Ellis Fatizzi added three goals for the Bears in the non-league win. and contributed to this article
