Kris Abens had four goals and an assist as visiting Unionville rallied for a 14-11 Ches-Mont League girls’ lacrosse win Tuesday over Downingtown West.
The win lifted the Indians to 6-6 overall and 4-2 in the league. The Whippets fell to 7-3 overall and 4-2 in the league.
The score was tie at halftime, 5-5, but Downingtown West seized a three-goal lead at 9-6 with 18 minutes to play. The Indians stormed back to score three goals in less than three minutes with Annabeth Donovan tying the game with 15:30 minutes to play.
Abens and Jill Murray (three goals, one assist) connected to give Unionville a lead it would not relinquish.
Mally Burton was a standout on defensive and Nikki Bondauce had 10 saves in goal.
Eva Winiarski had five goals for the Whippets.
Bishop Shanahan 20, Kennett 8
Hannah Goforth had six goals and two assists and Kathryn Skahan added three goals and four assists for the Eagles.
Lisa Strengari, Krissy Gallivan and Michelle Granhovac each scored two goals for Kennett.
Great Valley 18, Bayard Rustin 11
Emily Scullin had six goals and an assist and Ali Karwoski added five goals and two assists to lead the Patriots to the win.
Megan Miller and Mikayla Dogne each scored four goals for Rustin.
Baldwin School 19, Springside School 11
Sloan Warren collected seven goals, six draw controls and an interception, while Jennie Wigrizer had four goals and an assist and Ali Thayer added four goals for the Bears in the Inter-Ac League win.
Agnes Irwin 14, Germantown Academy 13
Chloe Chou collected five goals and Bridget Chakey scored three goals to lead the Owls to the Inter-Ac victory.
Mount St. Joseph 19, Nazareth Academy 5
Olivia Gannon had four goals and an assist and Burke Brabson scored four goals while Melissa Gavin added two goals and three assists for the Mount in the Catholic Academies victory.
Megan Harkins scored all five goals for Nazareth.
Springfield-Montco 18, Jenkintown 8
Anna Studenmund had four goals and two assists and Libby Field scored four goals while Juli Cardamone added three goals and two assists to pace the Spartans to the Bicentennial League wiin.
Emma Dillon led the Drakes with three goals.
Shipley 14, Germantown Friends 13
Avery Safford (three goals, three assists) scored the game-winner off a feed from Teddy Chase with one minute to play to lift the Gators (2-0-1, 4-4-1) to the Friends Schools League victory.
Sophie Katz and Kelley Hardon each added three goals and an assist for Shipley.
Annie Morrisey led GFS with three goals.
Archbishop Wood 12, Penn Charter 8
Caitlin McCartney had four goals and two assists and Nichole Hayes scored four goals to lead the Vikings to the non-league win.
Penn Charter got four goals from Emma Ebert.
