Sunday’s women’s roundup: Louisville’s Foley (Gwynedd Mercy Ac.), Navy’s Gennaro (A. Carroll) enjoy big days

Senior Bergan Foley (Gwynedd Mercy Academy) pumped in six goals to help host Louisville open its season today by routing Binghamton, 18-4, in women’s college lacrosse.

Foley entered the season with 200 career goals. Freshman Kelsey Garraty (Ridley) contributed two groundballs for the Cardinals.

Navy 15, Davidson 5

Freshman Aimee Gennaro (Archbishop Carroll) collected three goals and three assists and Beth Young (Villa Maria Academy) had a goal to help the host Mids improve to 3-0.

North Carolina 14, Richmond 8

Emily Garrity had an assist, a draw control and a groundball while Beth Ellis (Radnor) added a groundball to help the host Tar Heels improve to 3-0.

Victoria Roebuck (Springside School) posted 11 saves for Richmond.

Duke 14, William & Mary 11

Emma Hamm (Baldwin Schgool) had a goal and four assists and Kim Wenger (Great Valley) dished two assists to help the Blue Devils (3-0) defeat spoil the Tribe’s opener.

Emily Geary (Radnor) had six saves for W&M.

Hofstra 12, Oregon 11, OT

Casey Kellogg (Downingtown West) scored the first goal in overtime to help the Pride (1-1) rally for their first win.

Stanford 11, Syracuse 10

Freshman Amy Cross (Upper Dublin) scored once for the No. 5 Orange (1-1) in their upset loss to the host Cardinal (3-0, No. 13).
