Twist Blue went 6-0 and won its final three games in overtime last weekend to capture the Patriot Games Youth Lacrosse Showcase Varsity B Championship.
In the quarterfinals, Twist topped Trilogy Pittsburgh, 5-4, in a 3-man braveheart when Cole Rushworth scored on a breakaway and was tripped as he was. In the semis Twist downed Buffalo Lacrosse Assocication, 6-5, on an OT goal by Ricky Bozzelli.
In the Championship game Twist edged the Cardinals (CT), 6-5, in double overtime as Max Wolf made several great saves in goal and Jack Adons tallied the game-winner.
Twist Blue finished the summer at 22-3 with two tournament championships (Hogan Hero’s & Patriot Games), one semifinals appearance and one quarterfinal appearance.
