Public League boys’ lacrosse: Semifinals are set after Northeast, Mastery Charter earn second, third seeds

The Public League boys’ lacrosse regular season concluded today with a pair of games at Gratz High.

In the early game, Northeast HS – the #2 seed for the playoffs – defeated Delaware Valley Charter, 10-3. In the second game, Mastery Charter beat Audenried, 11-1 to clinch the #3 seed in the playoffs.

Audneried will play Del Val in the first round of the Public League playoffs on Monday in South Philadelphia. George Washington is the Public League regular season champion for the second year, making it through the regular season with a perfect 8-0 record in league play.

George Washington holds the #1 seed in the playoffs.

Saturday’s results
Northeast defeated Delaware Valley Charter, 10 – 3.
Mastery Charter defeated Audenried, 11 – 1.

Northeast: 5 2 3 0 = 10
Del Val: 1 1 0 1 = 3

Mastery: 2 4 2 3 = 11
Audenried: 0 0 0 1 = 1

Seven different players scored for Northeast in its victory. Vesna Kim, Ryan London and Eric O’Brien each scored two goals. John Liebig, Matt Ragan, Mike Sodiya and Fawzi Habib contributed one goal apiece.

Scoring a pair of goals for Del Val was Paris Washington, while Gary Dowe chipped in one goal. Onzie Tate had one assist for Del Val.

Multiple goal scorers for Mastery were: Chris Batts with four goals, Aaron Grant with three goals, and Thomas Jones with two goals. Theodore Fisher and Andrew Faulkner contibuted one goal each. Yusef Davis scored Audenried’s lone goal.
