Radnor and Harriton each won big games last week in the first full week of Philly girls’ lacrosse this season.
Unranked Harriton downed former No. 4 Strath Haven, 11-8, and moved itself into the Top 10 at No. 9. Meanwhile, former No. 5 Radnor toppled No. 3 Downingtown East, 10-8, and has moved up to No. 3.
This week’s poll:
1, Episcopal Academy (2-0) – EA gets a major test Wednesday when it plays at No. 7 Downingtown East. Prev: No. 1
2, Archbishop Carroll (2-1) – The Patriots gear for a key battle at traditional Catholic League power Archbishop Wood on Wednesday. Prev: No. 2
3, Radnor (3-0) – The Red Raiders have a key home date with Garnet Valley Thursday and play at undefeated Downingtown West on Saturday. Prev: No. 5
4. Notre Dame (1-0) – The Irish looked impressive in an opening-game win over Vllla Maria Academy. They open Inter-Ac League play Tuesday at home against Penn Charter. Prev: No. 8
5, Conestoga (1-0) – The Pioneers play at Upper Darby Tuesday and hosts Lower Merion Thursday in Central League games. Prev: No. 7
6, Springfield-Delco (2-0) – The Cougars have a big week; they host Villa Maria Academy today, play at Harriton Tuesday and host Strath Haven Thursday. Prev: No. 6.
7, Downingtown East (2-1) – The Cougars have two big games this week, a home game Wednesday afternoon with No. 1 Episcopal Academy and a key Ches-Mont game Thursday night at home against Great Valley. Prev: No. 3
8, Great Valley (4-0) – The Patriots have looked very impressive in the early going. After hosting Unionville Tuesday in the Ches-Mont, they face a major test at Downngtown East Thursday. Prev: No. 10
9, Harriton (4-0) – The Rams stamped themselves as a contender with their 11-8 triumph over Strath Haven and an impressive 17-10 win over Methacton. Their next big test is Tuesday at home against No. 6 Springfield-Delco. Prev: NR
10. North Penn (4-0) – The Maidens have three home games in the Suburban One Continental this week: today vs, Central Bucks South, Wednesday vs, Souderton and Friday vs. Hatboro-Horsham. Prev: No. 9
