Monday’s girls’ roundup: Boyertown tops Methacton again; PV downs OJR, Pennsbury tips Wissahickon

Rachel Engler and Haley Wentzel delivered hat tricks and Boyertown stayed unbeaten in 11 Pioneer Athletic Conference girls’ lacrosse starts with a 13-4 romp over Methacton Monday night.

Kelly Furman chipped in with two goals and two assists for the Bears, who have handed the Warriors (9-2 league, 11-4) both of their PAC-10 losses this season. Rikki Moore came up with seven saves for Methacton.

Perkiomen Valley 15, Owen J. Roberts 14

Alexa Webb connected for five goals while Andrea Berenato and Amber Gansz both recorded hat tricks for the Vikings.

Leading OJR with four goals and two assists was Devan Davis, with Jordyn Shoemaker and Devin Hassinger coming up with hat tricks. Emily Kolsevich and Kelsey Dielman added two goals apiece for the Wildcats.

Pennsbury 11, Wissahickon 10, OT

Senior Taylor Hickman scored four goals while teammates Kelsy Gumbert, Liz Cowley and Joy Hopkins each added two goals to lead the Falcons to the non-league win. Jackie Sweeney added a single goal to close out the scoring for the Falcons.

For the Trojans, sophomores Laura Frankenfield and Jackie Hibbs both scored three goals. Zoe Gomez had two goals, and Zoe Kale (one assist) and Alana Stutman each had one goal.

Trojan goalie Jessica Scannapieco turned away six shots and had one interception while sophomore Liana Eyre had 10 saves for the Falcons.

Souderton 10, Spring-Ford 9

Danielle Notvest (three goals) had the game-winner with 16 seconds to play and Kirstin Russell scored four goals for the Indians in the non-league win.

Central Bucks West 18, Plymouth Whitemarsh 8

Elena Romesburg scored six goals for the Bucks while teammates Tara Shugars (one assist) and Jane Savard each added the hat trick. Amanda Parker, Steph Cooper, Jess Circuit, Erika Schweinbenz, Trish Kilgannon and Christy Grezeszak each scored one goal.

Parker added a pair of assists as well as four groundballs, two caused turnovers while Grezeszak added nine groundballs and three draw controls.

Molly Getzfread and Hannah Heritage led the Colonials with two goals each.

In goal, Maddie Mulligan turned away seven shots for the Bucks.

Upper Dublin 16, Upper Moreland 2

Eight players contributed goals for the Flying Cardinals, who were led by three-goal, four-assist effort of Brooke Callahan. Kelly Cross and Emily Hitchings both added three goals and one assist while Taylor D’Ginto had two goals and three assists. Michelle DeVincent scored two goals, and Megan Rock, Lauren Faust and Anna Trentini each had one goal.

For the Golden Bears, Alexa Schuck and Ashley Duff both scored goals. Brandi Weaver and Kathryn Brunner contributed assists.

Upper Merion 11, Sun Valley 9

The Vikings, who trailed 5-4 at halftime, upped their record to 9-3 with their come-from-behind win over Sun Valley.

Amanda McAteer led the Vikings with five goals and one assist. Mel Ryan also came up big, contributing four goals and two assists. Jackie Schauble and Haley Fitzgerald each added single goals.

Tammy Slaughter led the defense, causing three turnovers. Goalie Ally Frymoyer was credited with 12 saves.

Pennridge 14, Council Rock South 11

The Rams were able to overcome the 17-save effort of Golden Hawk goalie Taylor Hurwitz to earn the win.

Julia Colyar led the way with four goals, and teammates Sarah Wiley and Taylor Dachowski both connected for the hat trick. Aerin McHugh had a pair of goals, and Jordan Rimmer and Jackie Stevens both scored single goals.

For the Golden Hawks, Leann Hurley and Gabi Rosenfeld both scored four goals. Christine Besselman had two goals, and Becca Cocco contributed one goal and one assist.

Pennridge goalie Danielle Nichols was credited with nine saves.

Perkiomen School 14, Barrack HA 11

Morgan Klavon scored six goals and Maddie Foraco added four to lead Perk School to the Tri-County win.

Tamar Parmet had five goals for Barrack.

Agnes Irwin 14, Springside 7

Campbell Crochiere (5g, 1a, 2dcs, 3gbs) and Chloe Chou (3g, 3a 2dcs) led the Owls to the Catholic Academies win.

Penncrest 12, Chichester 4

Patrice Coleman scored three goals and Haley Altus added a pair to lead the Lions to the non-league win.

Sacred Heart 22, Villa Joseph Marie 11

Stephanie Finley collected eight goals and six assists, Eileen Dombrowski had five goals and five assists and Claire Fitzpatrick added four goals and four assists to lead Sacred Heart to the Catholic Aacdemies win.

Jenny Sandora had four goals and an assist and Maryclaire Walsh scored four goals for VJM.

Jenkintown 19, Nazareth Academy 14

Emma Dillon had seven goals and an assist and Haley Smith added six goals and two assists to lead the Drakes to the non-league win.

Laura Pharo led Nazareth with six goals.

Lansdale Catholic 11, Norristown 8

Katie Gillespie fired in six goals and Nicole Scialla made 14 saves for LC in the non-league win.
