Wilson (PA) senior defenseman/LSM John Sullivan has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Widener University.

John Sullivan log:

John Sullivan

High school: Wilson High School (Berks County)

Graduation year: 2012

Position: Defense/LSM

College choice: Widener University

Club affiliation:
Blue Mountain Lacrosse Club

Major lacrosse honors: Selection at the National Lacrosse Classic, 2-time Gold Medal Champion at the Keystone State Games, Champ Camp winner bracket, Blue Chip 225

What will you major in/study: Business or Computer Science

Why did you choose school: “I chose Widener University for its excellent academic reputation and strong lacrosse program. Widener offers a large school program in a smaller school setting. I like the access to a larger city and possible internships during college. Coach (Brendan) Dawson has a national championship vision and I want to be a part of that.”

Outlook for your high school team: We have many returning starters and some really good younger players coming up. Our main goal is to win the county championship and get as far as we can in districts.

Other comments: “I would like to thank my high school coach Greg Gorddard and all the other coaches at Wilson. We are still a relatively new program but we are coming on strong. Also, thank you to Doug Bailey and all the coaches at Blue Mountain Lacrosse for the past 2 years. Playing and starting on the top U19 team for Blue Mountain got me the exposure I needed to colleges and I had so many great schools recruiting me. I also would like to thank Eric Wise at Premier Athletic Performance for helping me with my strength and conditioning.”
