Men’s recruit: State College senior attackman Bachman commits to Christopher Newport

State College senior attackman Andrew Bachman has made a commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Christopher Newport University.

Graduation year: 2012

Position: Attack

College choice: Christopher Newport University

Club affiliation: Central PA Dawgs

Major lacrosse honors: Brine All-American. Attended Peak 200, Keystone Games, member of State College team that went 12-7 and qualified for PIAA playoffs.

What will you major in/study?: Finance/Accounting

Why did you choose school?: “Christopher Newport provides a great fit for me with their school of business, climate, location, and lacrosse team.
Coach Boward made me feel like a part of the team and I can also minor in Leadership Studies or English Literature at CNU.”

Outlook for your high school team: “We are going to miss some great seniors, but our team chemistry this year is great and hopefully we can get another bid to the PIAA playoffs. Coach (Jeff) King and (Rick) Johnson always have great plans for our off season workouts and tournaments.”

Other comments: “First and foremost I would like to thank my parents for putting me in a great position to succeed. I would like to thank Coach (Chris) Newman for the great job he did by helping me through the recruiting process, Coach King and Coach Johnson for the swell job they do with our High School team and my teammates and family for giving me support.”
