Ridge (N.J.) junior defenseman Mitchell Gray has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at St. Joseph’s University.

Graduation year: 2013
Position: Defense
College choice: Saint Joseph’s University
Club affiliation: New Jersey’s Leading Edge Elite 2013
Major lacrosse honors, camps: King of the Hill, Crab Fest, Champ Camp, and won MVP & NSCLA this summer. This fall attended QuakerFest, UPLAX, and the Philly Invitational.
What will you major in/study: Undecided
Why did you choose school: “I liked everything about SJU, academically and athletically. The players made me feel welcome. SJU has a renewed commitment to really focus on lacrosse. Coach (Taylor) Wray and the Keating Brothers (assistants Dan and Mike) are awesome and have a plan to compete in the CAA.”
Outlook for your high school team: “We intend to win the state championship. We have the players – we just need to put it together on the field.”
Other comments: “I would like to thank Coach (Ken) Marsh from Ridge, Coach (Chris) Roy from Leading Edge and my parents for supporting me.”
