Spring-Ford junior defenseman Ian Hare has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Towson University.

Ian Hare log:

Ian Hare

High School: Spring-Ford

Graduation Year: 2013

Position: Defenseman

College Choice: Towson

Club Affiliation: Duke’s Lacrosse Club

Major lacrosse honors: Second team PAC-10 (2011); Big 4 Invitational Showcase All-Star, member of 2011 league championship team.

What will you major in/study? Leaning toward Physical Therapy

Why did you choose school? “I liked the school in general, the size and the population. It’s small on the outside, and big on the inside. I like the seclusion. I really liked coaches (Shawn) Nadelen (head coach) and (Dan) Cocchi (assistant). I felt real comfortable around them.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next year? “We always have that feeling like we’ve gotten this far (District 1 quarterfinals in 2011); let’s take it a step further. Our goal is to win the PAC-10, make it through districts and play for a state championship.”

Other comments: “I want to thank my parents, my high school coaches, (Kevin) Donnelly and (Kevin) Czapor, Duke’s coaches (Ebe) Helm, (Jason) Christmas, and Chris Fallon, and the rest of the Duke’s coaches.”
