New Canaan (CT) senior defenseman Kevin McDonough has committed to the admissions process at the University of Pennsylvania.
Kevin McDonough log:

High School: New Canaan High (CT)
Graduation Year: 2012 (will PG in ’13)
Position: Close D
College Choice: University of Pennsylvania
Club Affiliation: Long Island Sting
Lacrosse Honors: All-FCIAC, 2nd Team; All-State, 2nd Team, Captain
Academic Honors: Honor Roll
Major: Undecided
Why did you choose Penn? “I chose Penn because of its phenomenal academic reputation and the culture that Coach (Mike) Murphy has instilled in the lacrosse program. It seems like a tight-knit group, with everyone committed to hard work and winning.”
HS season outlook for 2012: We return almost everyone on a team that made it to the state championship last year. We have a great goalie, solid defense (including Eric Persky, who is also committed to Penn) and a bunch of offensive players set to play at the next level. If we work hard and buy into what Coach Whitten tells us, we should have a successful season.”
Other comments: “I want to thank my club coach, Ken Miller, who runs a fantastic program and has helped me navigate the college process. I also want to thank Coach Alex Whitten (at New Canaan) and my teammates.”
Note: Ivy League student-athletes must continue through the admissions process
