Malvern Prep junior defenseman Jared Horoski has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Delaware.
Jared Horoski log:

High school: Malvern Prep
Graduation year: 2013
Position: Defenseman
College choice: University of Delaware
Club affiliation: Mesa Fresh 2013
Major lacrosse honors: EPSLA Showcase, Philly Showcase All-Star
What will you major in/study: Business.
Why did you choose school?: “On my visit, Coach (Bob) Shillinglaw and (Greg) Carroll made me feel at home. I really like the way they coach defense. It is an up-tempo defense that pushes the ball up field and really fits my style. It’s also the perfect distance away from home, and everything from the campus to the facilities were state of the art.”
Outlook for your high school team: “So far its been a good off-season, with a good showing in weight room. If we continue to work hard, we expect to have much success and compete for an Inter-Ac Championship.”
Other comments: “I want to thank my Malvern coach, Coach (David) Metzbower. Also I wish to thank former Malvern coaches Dan and Mike Keating, my club coach, John Sims, and all my St. Joe’s youth lacrosse coaches.”
Other info: Horoski is the fourth Malvern Prep junior to commit to a D1 college; others are goalie Matt Barrett (Virginia), midfielder Joey Carlini (Johns Hopkins) and defenseman Chad Rafferty (Maryland). The Friars also have six D1 recruits in the senior class.
