Ridgewood (N.J.) rising senior defenseman Tripp Telesco has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Lehigh University.
Telesco helped Ridgewood finish 15-6 and reach the semifinals of the New Jersey Group III championships. He earned Honorable Mention All-State and Second Team All-Bergen County honors. Telesco plays club lacrosse for the Long Island Sting.
Telesco, an Honor Roll student, said he was impressed with the Lehigh coaching staff, led by head coach Kevin Cassese.
“The coaches were a big factor,” Telesco said. “They played a great influence. I love the campus and the lacrosse program is on the rise.”
Telesco expects Ridgewood to be a state contender in 2012.
“We have very high expectations for next year,” he said. “We have most of our starters back. We have a solid senior class.”
