Downingtown East junior attackman/midfielder Brandyn O’Connell has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Hofstra University.
Brandyn O’Connell log:

High school: Downingtown East
Position: Attack/midfield
College choice: Hofstra University
Club affiliation: Duke’s L.C.
Major lacrosse honors: Two-year starter, recorded 36 goals and 24 assist as a sophomore, First Team All Ches-Mont League.
Intended major: Business
Why did you choose Hofstra? “I felt the coaching staff was excellent and the team’s consistent national ranking was a big plus, in addition to the school’s academic options plus the geography of the overall college campus.”
What are your expectations for the upcoming HS season? “To improve as player both on and off the field as well as help my team win a league title and go to the state championships.”
Other comments: “I would to thank both my parents for the support and efforts they provided me during my decision process. In addition, I want to thank my entire High School coaching staff, my Duke’s Lacrosse Club coaching staff, plus all the college coaches that showed an interest in me.”
Other info: He is the second Philly junior attackman that plays for the Duke’s L.C. to commit to Hofstra; the other is Upper Merion’s Trevor Kupecky.
